Brett Scoble

Plant Manager, H.W Greenham & Sons.


Brett Scoble has been employed with H.W Greenham & sons for the last 22 years, starting as a labourer in the boning room and working his way to plant manager. He developed his basic industry training to certificate 4 level and achieved a Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Meat Processing. Brett advised that while completing the Graduate Certificate of Agribusiness “it was refreshing to find that all participants are facing similar issues and challengers as each other”, and found it overall to be a rewarding experience.

Chris Adcock

Operational Analyst, Beenleigh Plant Brisbane


Chris Adcock started in the red meat processing industry when he was 17 as a labourer, working his way up to slicing and boning, and eventually achieving a position as Production Manager. This role lead to Chris moving into an Operational Analyst role at the Beenleigh Plant in Brisbane. Chris achieved a certificate 4 in Meat Processing and Diploma of Meat Processing, and believes that his new Graduate Certificate of Agribusiness will help further knowledge and improve understanding in all areas of the industry.

Geoff Davis

Plant Manager, Casino Service Processing, Northern Cooperatove Meat Compant Ltd.


Geoff Davis commenced in the red meat processing industry in 1989 with the Northern Cooperative Meat Company, moving into a role as Manager of the Beef Slaughter floor for nine years, before progressing to trainee operations supervisor in 2010. Geoff currently sits as Plant Manager overseeing Casino Service Processing – a division of NCMC. Geoff advised that the Graduate Certificate of Agribusiness highlighted issues that the industry is facing, but the openness of the companies participating allowed for them to see firsthand how their newly developed skills and techniques could improve each operation or company.

Glenn Langley

CEO, Hawkesbury Valley Meat Processors Pty Ltd


Glenn Langley is the CEO of Hawkesbury Valley Meat Processors and entered the industry in 1991. He specialises in WHS, training, quality assurance, human resources, government relations, waste management and development. Glenn stated that the contacts within the industry he can now communicate with has been a highlight of his time studying. The opportunities to lead projects to increase employment and training opportunities for his company, he believes, will lead to an increase in the number of skilled workers. Also, the knowledge gained through the course has awarded better understandings of the red meat industry and the opportunities available for Hawkesbury Valley Meat Processors.

Greg Wareham

Plant Manager, G&K O'Connar Pty Ltd


Greg Wareham left school at 16 to complete a butchering apprenticeship and in 1988 he joined G & K O’Connar Pty Ltd, starting his career as a boner and progressing to Plant Manager. In 2004 he won the Victoria Vocational Student of the Year Competition, going on to win Australian Vocational Student of the Year. Greg expressed that the opportunity to study and train is the only reason he was given the chance to improve his skills and be promoted to his current position of Plant Manager.

Pat Gleeson

General Manager, Oakey Beef Exports & Thomas Borthwicks Mackay


Pat Gleeson is a fourth-generation cattle farmer from Crow’s Nest, Queensland. He began his career as an apprentice butcher and is currently the the General Manager of Oakey Beef Exports and Thomas Borthwicks Mackay, as well as Director in the Nippon Ham Group in Australia that produce a large range of beef products, exporting to 34 countries.  Pat intends to share the tools he has learnt through the Graduate Certificate of Agribusiness with management at these plants, upskilling their management abilities.

Stacey McKenna

Director, Skillsbase Australia


Stacey McKenna is currently studying a Graduate Certificate in Management with the University of New England. She adds the Graduate Certificate of Agribusiness to her many qualifications, such as an Advanced Diploma of Meat Processing (Leadership) and a Diploma of Human Resources. She began her career working for the family business, The Midfield Group, as a labourer on school holidays. She is currently Director of Skillsbase Australia, a private RTO that specialising in training the Agriculture and Meat Production Sectors. The Graduate Certificate in Agribusiness has a strong focus on leadership skills and change management, and as such, Stacey believes the program had a positive impact on her interpersonal skills, conflict management and general problem solving skills. It also improved her ability to negotiate positive outcomes with trainees, employees, management and external stakeholders.

Sydney Muller
