Processing and its role in a sustainable red meat industry

Early career research into milk production from tropical grazing systems in northern Australia with the Qld Dept. Primary Industries.  Tom was a General Manager in Dairy Australia managing all on farm R&D for 8 years then with   RIRDC managing national programs and worked with FSAConsulting  between 2008-2010.  In MLA, Tom was Manager of the National Livestock Methane Program (NLMP) – A $40 million program in partnership with Federal Department of Agriculture and 12 Research Organisations that conducted research into productivity increases from reduced methane emissions in livestock. 

In partnership with AACo his group developed two methods that have been approved under the Emissions Reduction Fund for use by the cattle industry.In 2014, Tom was nominated to join the Emissions Assurance Reduction Committee by the Federal Dept of Environment and in 2016 was nominated to join  a technical committee for the UN World Meteorological Office to look at climate forecasting tools for agriculture.
